Slicing Slivers

If I should slice a sliver from your photograph,

Just a hair-thin slice down one side,
Would it make a difference?

No?

Then let me take another, and another and another…

There will come that magic moment
When just that single sliver,
That air-thin strip, as narrow as nothing,
Insignificant, unnoticeable and unseen,
Is finally removed.
And all is changed.
And the picture is no more.

Does the image that is our life
Get thusly sliced and diced
Slivered, tossed and lost,
Moments thrown away so easily?
It’s just a moment, you’ll never notice!

You have so many, many anyway
…Don’t you?
